Trackpad is made of raw linen stretched on a frame. Behind the canvas a mechanism marks the impact points of a remote war : the distortion of the canvas shows U.S. drone strikes in Wasiristan and Yemen. At times of surgical war, history painting reviews its technique and mode of appearance: no more brush, no image remains on the surface, while behind an event happens fleeting and monstrous – which distorts the two-dimensionality of the picture – and leaves no trace. <(Fr.)Trackpad, sont des toiles de lin brut tendues sur châssis, derrière lesquelles un mécanisme reporte les points d’impact d’une guerre télécommandée : la déformation ciblée de la toile figure les frappes aériennes des drones américains au Wasiristan et au Yemen. A l’aune de la guerre chirurgicale, la peinture d’histoire révise sa technique et son mode d’apparition : le pinceau s’y abstient, aucune image ne demeure à sa surface tandis que derrière elle se produit un événement fugace et monstrueux – qui dénature la bidimensionnalité du tableau – et ne laisse aucune trace.
